Throughout his journey, Ahmed has continuously strived to make a positive impact on various communities through his work and advocacy.

One of Ahmed’s notable roles was at the Action on Disability within Ethnic Communities (ADEC), where he provided essential training on cultural responsiveness in the workplace. His focus extended to community/social workers, service providers, and university students in Victoria, reflecting his commitment to fostering inclusivity and understanding across diverse settings. Additionally, Ahmed served as the Transcultural Mental Health and Disability Service Access Program Manager, further highlighting his dedication to ensuring access to crucial services for all individuals.

Ahmed’s outstanding contributions have been recognized through prestigious awards, including the Rotary Melbourne Club Senior Citizenship Award for his innovative work with the Banyule Community social activities program. This program aimed to empower and integrate elders from ethnic communities into the broader community, showcasing Ahmed’s passion for community building and inclusivity. Furthermore, he was honoured with the Banyule City Council Volunteer Award for his advocacy in supporting children from ethnic backgrounds to access free educational services, emphasizing his commitment to education and equity.

In his role as a teacher’s aide and education aide in northern Melbourne public schools, Ahmed demonstrated his dedication to supporting students with disabilities and additional needs. By collaborating with teachers, he ensured that students received the necessary assistance to thrive academically and socially, promoting a culture of inclusion within the classroom environment.

Beyond his local contributions, Ahmed’s impact has spanned across international organizations such as the Red Cross, UNHCR, and IOM, where he focused on peacebuilding, stability, conflict resolution, and community development. With over 15 years of experience addressing civil war-related issues, Ahmed was distinguished with the title of Ambassador for Peace by the Universal Peace Federation (UPF), underscoring his significant contributions to global peace efforts.

Ahmed’s academic journey includes a bachelor’s degree in human social science and dual master’s degrees in social science and global security and terrorism, reflecting his commitment to continuous learning and expertise in social and global issues.
